Timeless Elegance
Lush flowers in the garden are as welcome as a sweet treat on a hot summer day. The silky petals are dusky pink with layers of blushed apricot petals peeking within their centers. Like the skirts of a party dress, the super ruffled flowers are flouncy and festive. Strong stems hold the flowers well. Prized for lavish bouquets, the softly fragrant flowers of Peony Sorbet is as decadent as it sounds.

Peony General Information

Peonies are known for their large, colorful many-petaled blossoms. A classic garden favorite. Fragrant blooms and lush foliage have made them loved for years. Abundant blooming begins usually in the 3rd season but once established, peonies can last for generations.

Peony Plant Care

Plant eyes 2 inches deep and 3-4 feet apart to allow for expansion of the clump and good air circulation. Peonies may need 2-3 years of maturity before producing significant flowering but so worth the wait! Position grow-through supports when plants are just a few inches tall to preserve upright habit when in bloom. Likes full sun and well-drained soil; however, in warmer climates, blooms will last longer with some shade during the hottest part of the day. Keep mulch away from base of plant, as it will react as though it is planted too deeply and yield less flowers. Prune foliage to ground in the fall. Rarely needs to be divided. Peonies dislike being moved.
