Taxus General Information

Yews are good accent and foundation plants. Excellent for mass plantings and very good as informal or formal hedges. Versatile evergreen shrubs. Idaho has restricted all potted plant material from being shipped into Idaho at this time.

Taxus Plant Care

Yews will grow in full sun to full shade. Protect from strong winter winds. Fertilize lightly every spring with a balanced (10-10-10) fertilizer. Sprinkle the granules around the base of each plant before new growth emerges and water immediately so fertilizer will reach the root zone. Requires well-drained soil. Can be allowed to grow naturally or prune regularly to shape.
