Samucus General Information:

Sambucus is a deciduous multi-stemmed shrub grown for foliage color. Ornamental fruit will develop in autumn if a pollinator is near. Pollinators: Sambucus Black Lace or Black Beauty. Prefers a moist soil but will adapt to dry soils.

Samucus Plant Care:

Responds well to hard pruning each spring while dormant. Cut back older stems to the ground and one-year old wood by 1/2. Remove suckers at the base as they appear. Sambucus blooms on old wood.
