Physocarpus General Information

Physocarpus are deciduous shrubs with arching branches. An easy-to-grow, all-purpose shrub will adapt to a wide variety of conditions. Spiraea-like flower clusters. Proven Winners½ selections are trialed and tested to be colorful, long blooming, carefree and easy to grow. Idaho has restricted all potted plant material from being shipped into Idaho at this time.

Physocarpus Plant Care

In late winter, prune about a third of the branches to the ground to encourage new shoots. Blooms on old wood, so shaping is best done just after flowering, and only if needed. Will naturally take on a graceful habit if left unpruned.
