Muhlenbergia are clump-forming grasses. Stems begin to arch outward as summer progresses producing a weeping habit. Narrow purple to yellow spikes rise above the foliage in September/October. Foliage turns buff colored in fall.

Muhlenbergia Plant Care

Tolerant of drought, heat and poor soils. Can be divided in spring. Does not produce runners. If desired, shear in late winter before new spring growth appears. Requires well-drained soil to survive wet winters.
