A tough US native plant, the frothy mist of pink absolutely sparkles with the sunlight! Does great in a hot dry sunny spot. In late August, the soft watercolor effect when planted in large drifts is breathtaking! Known for its tolerance of drought and poor soils. Good drainage is recommended.
Extremely adaptable and low maintenance. Perfect for slopes; great in a container; beautiful when tucked into cut-flower arrangements.
Muhlenbergia are clump-forming grasses. Stems begin to arch outward as summer progresses producing a weeping habit. Pink seed heads rise above the foliage in early Fall. Foliage slowly turns buff colored in fall.
Tolerant of drought, heat and poor soils. Can be divided in spring. Does not produce runners. If desired, shear in late winter before new spring growth appears. Requires well-drained soil to survive wet winters.
