Stately Elegance
Upward-facing white flowers are wide and full. Slightly ruffled flowers soar above the foliage on sturdy stems. Translucent petals, like tissue paper, are etched with creamy yellow sunburst signals near the base. Plant in groups for a bevy of glorious flowers. Iris Swans in Flight will absolutely glow in an evening garden. This elegant beauty is a little later blooming beginning in early summer to extend the Siberian Iris show. It received the American Iris Society’s Morgan-Wood Medal in 2013 (the highest award given exclusively to Siberian Iris), the 2013 Franklin Cook Cup, 2011 Award of Merit and a 2009 Honorable Mention.

Botanical Name

Iris sibirica 'Swans in Flight'

Iris General Information

Iris Sibirica are dazzling flowers that provide a bold splash of color atop narrow stems and sword-like foliage. Prized for their strong upright presentation. Sturdy flower stalks are adorned with intricately patterned flowers in rich colors. Dense root systems prevent weeds as plants grow together in large clumps. Great on banks.

Iris Plant Care

Low care plant - best to leave undisturbed. If transplanted or divided, they may take a couple of seasons to bloom again. Leave a few seed pods on for late season interest. Some self seeding may occur. Foliage develops a golden autumn color which holds into early winter. Cut down old foliage in spring.

Plantable Pots

Our plants are grown in 3.5x3.5x4” plantable pots. Made from 100% biodegradable coconut husk fibers (coir), these pots have tremendous advantages over plastic pots. With better air exchange, this "breathable" pot fosters robust root growth and reduces transplant shock since you can plant the pots directly in the ground. The pot naturally becomes part of the soil on its own over time—no composting required—and since they're made from a renewable resource that requires very little energy, they're earth-friendly too!
