Delosperma General Information

Delosperma is a low-growing succulent native to South Africa, that produces vibrant daisy-like flowers, often with contrasting centers. It blooms throughout the season, making it a perfect choice for rock gardens, as a ground cover, or green roof application. Evergreen in warmer climates, this drought-resistant plant thrives in dry, full sun areas with poor soil and provides color during the difficult summer months. Requires minimal maintenance, making it ideal for containers and difficult garden spots.

Delosperma Plant Care

Delosperma grows best in full sun and needs well-draining soil, preferring sandy or gravelly ground that doesn't hold water. Once established, these plants can handle long periods without water, but they cannot tolerate soggy conditions. While they can survive cold temperatures, excess moisture in winter is their biggest threat. Plant in a location protected from strong winds and ensure water can drain quickly from the soil, especially during wet seasons. Avoid planting in heavy clay soil or areas where water collects.

Plantable Pots

Our plants are grown in 3.5x3.5x4” plantable pots. Made from 100% biodegradable coconut husk fibers (coir), these pots have tremendous advantages over plastic pots. With better air exchange, this "breathable" pot fosters robust root growth and reduces transplant shock since you can plant the pots directly in the ground. The pot naturally becomes part of the soil on its own over time—no composting required—and since they're made from a renewable resource that requires very little energy, they're earth-friendly too!

100% Guarantee

Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have questions or concerns—we share your passion for gardening and want your new plants to thrive in your border!
