Bush Clematis No Pruning
A non-vining Clematis! Bell-shaped, nodding 4-petaled lavender flowers open from dark-purple buds. Petals reflex backward forming graceful, intriguing-shaped flowers that are followed by frilly, creamy seed heads. Because Clematis Stand by Me Lavender is non-vining, it is ideal for a border and will benefit by supplying neighboring plants or cages/stakes for support. Broad, green foliage is a lovely backdrop to this Proven WinnersŪ perennial vine.

Clematis General Information

Clematis are prized for their incredible flowers, most as large as your hand. "Queen of the Climbers" will train onto trellises, fences or arch over doorways. Stunning when used alone or when several colors are mixed. Grower's tip: Truest colors require full sun, as any shade will introduce purple tones. Flower color and bloom size may vary while the plant is establishing. Idaho has restricted all potted plant material from being shipped into Idaho at this time.

Clematis Plant Care

No pruning should be needed, but treat as a Type 3 if necessary. Pruning Type 3 - This group blooms later and from new growth. These should be pruned in February or March as new leaf buds begin to show low on the plant. Also remove all dead material above the buds and clean out any old or mildewed foliage at this time. If intertwining Clematis, pruning will be easier if you select varieties with the same pruning type. Want to sort by pruning type? In the main search box, type Type 1, Type 2 or Type 3 to group them together.

Plantable Pots

Our plants are grown in 3.5x3.5x4” plantable pots. Made from 100% biodegradable coconut husk fibers (coir), these pots have tremendous advantages over plastic pots. With better air exchange, this "breathable" pot fosters robust root growth and reduces transplant shock since you can plant the pots directly in the ground. The pot naturally becomes part of the soil on its own over time—no composting required—and since they're made from a renewable resource that requires very little energy, they're earth-friendly too!

100% Guarantee

We offer a 100% unconditional guarantee for all our perennials to reach you in good condition and to grow. If you're not satisfied, we'll reship or refund immediately. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have questions or concerns—we share your passion for gardening and want your new plants to thrive in your border!
