Lily 'Muscadet'
Oriental Lilies bloom in a fabulous array of colors. They differ from Asiatic Lilies in that the flowers are noticeably larger and fragrant, and the leaves are more lance-shaped. The flowers tend to be upward-facing and long lasting on thick stems making them great cut flowers. Their intense fragrance makes them a welcome addition to any cut flower garden.
Plant in fertile, moist, well-drained soil in full sun to light shade. These plants do not tolerate alkaline soil. Plant 6" deep in groups of three for best display and space 6-12” apart. Cut off spent flower stalks once the petals have fallen, trimming them back to just above a pair of leaves. Leave as much stem and as many leaves as possible as they nourish the bulb for next year’s blooms. Do not remove or cut back stalks until complete dieback has occurred in the fall, it could weaken the bulb. Taller varieties will require staking.
