A Rock Garden Star
Soft-blue flowers feature intricate-patterned, dark wine-purple falls are painted with a white signal and slashed with a yellow stripe. Smaller statured; they are perfect for rock gardens, border fronts and sidewalks. Sweetly fragrant. Grass-like foliage will go dormant after flowering then disappears by late spring to patiently wait for an early spring repeat performance the following year. Commonly called Netted Iris in reference to the netted or reticulate pattern on the dry bulbs. Plant Dwarf Iris with crocus, snowdrops, and grape hyacinth and enjoy an early explosion of spring color.

Iris General Information

Smaller in stature, but just as dazzling as their taller cousin. Dwarf Irises are very early blooming plants. They bloom after snowdrops and about the same time as giant crocuses. Multiply rapidly, excellent for rock gardens.

Iris Plant Care

Requires a sunny site with well-drained soil. Plant 4" apart and 3" deep. To provide nourishment for the bulb, allow foliage to yellow and dry after the flowers are spent before pruning. Interested in forcing bulbs? Visit our Useful Links page.
