A Lovely Mix of Pastels
Pink, periwinkle blue, and white Ipheion are dainty sparkling treasures in the spring garden. Starflowers will quickly naturalize to form impressive ‘constellations’ – a perfect underplanting around shrubs and deciduous trees. The bright grass-like foliage will go dormant when hot weather arrives. Flowers and foliage have a mild spicy fragrance.

Ipheion General Information

Ipheion are a perfect addition to the rock garden. Solitary star-shaped flowers on 6" stems grow above narrow grass-like blades in Spring.

Ipheion Plant Care

Prefers average, well-drained soils in full sun to part shade. Plant 2-3" deep and space 4-6" apart. Naturalizes by bulb offsets and self-seeding. Plants usually go dormant by late spring when temperatures begin to rise.
