Abelia General Information

Abelia are colorful, fragrant deciduous shrubs with loose upright-arching stems. Trumpet-shaped flowers adorn glossy foliage. Attracts butterflies. Idaho has restricted all potted plant material from being shipped into Idaho at this time.

Abelia Plant Care

Abelia flower best in full sun. Easy growing, low-maintenance with limited pruning. If desired, begin pruning in its third growing season to maintain size and shape. Trimming or shaping should be done in late fall through very early spring before new growth begins. Abelia may also benefit from a hard shearing every couple of years to keep a neat appearance.
