Bring Serenity to Your Outdoor Space
Large lacecap flowers, white with shell-pink overtones, edged in darker pink, surround rose-colored centers. Game Changer Picotee is a truly remarkable variety of Bigleaf Hydrangea as it does not depend on day length for flowering, resulting in earlier and longer blooming. This compact shrub has dense green foliage with bronze-tinted new growth. A pollinator-friendly Hydrangea, ideal for creating a serene garden atmosphere, whether as a solitary specimen or in groups, producing plenty of cut flowers for your bouquets and baskets. In acidic soil, flowers may develop lovely lavender tones.

Hydrangea General Information

Hydrangea are superb in the border for summer and autumn color. This shade-tolerant shrub is perfect for under trees and in the shadows of buildings. Provides winter interest too if flowers are left on. Great for indoor decorating as their flowers are easily dried.

Hydrangea Plant Care

Prefers moist, well-drained soil. Blooms on old and new wood. Can be pinched or pruned while young to build a full-bodied, well-branched plant. May benefit from winter mulch in northern areas. Easiest pruning is to simply remove any dead canes after the hydrangea sprouts in the spring. A slow-release fertilizer recommended for shrubs and trees may be applied once a year. Spread around the drip line of the branches, not the base. Lightly cover the fertilizer with soil to activate and water well.

Plantable Pots

Our plants are grown in 3.5x3.5x4” plantable pots. Made from 100% biodegradable coconut husk fibers (coir), these pots have tremendous advantages over plastic pots. With better air exchange, this "breathable" pot fosters robust root growth and reduces transplant shock since you can plant the pots directly in the ground. The pot naturally becomes part of the soil on its own over time—no composting required—and since they're made from a renewable resource that requires very little energy, they're earth-friendly too!
