Calycanthus General Information

Calycanthus are deciduous flowering shrubs. Large, fragrant magnolia-like flowers adorn glossy foliage. Nice specimen plant or in mass for a hedge. Flowers are long-lasting and branches may be cut to enjoy blossoms indoors.

Calycanthus Plant Care

No pruning necessary. New shoots are produced freely each spring from the base. If desired, OK to shape or thin in spring before new growth starts to remove any wayward or older woody branches.
