Ferraria 'Crispa'
Ferraria commonly called Starfish Iris bloom in succession on multi-branched stems. The 2” exotic flowers from June-July above strappy green foliage are easy to grow and corms will multiply each year. All our accent annuals are guaranteed to reach you in good condition and to grow, but we can't guarantee annuals to overwinter. Will be an annual except in zones 9-10 but can be stored over the winter in colder zones. Instructions
Hardy in Zones 9-10. Starfish Iris will thrive in hotter zones in full sun with well-drained soil. When growing in containers, plant 1” deep and 2” apart. Outdoors plant 3-5” deep and space 6-8” apart. When flowers begin to die off, allow the foliage to persist to gather energy for the corm to fuel next season’s growth. Let soil dry out and dig up corms to store in a dry paper bag for the winter. Dig down approximately 12” and gently lift. Divide the corms every three to five years. The corms tend to pile up on each other and bloom production will be reduced. When in bloom, use a balanced liquid fertilizer at ½ strength every other week.
