These sensational Perfect Partners® spring blooming bulbs contain flowers that are complementary in height and bloom in unison. Allium are easy-to-grow and come in a palette of colors, heights, flower shapes and bloom times. They provide long-lasting flowers ideal for bouquets and are sunny summer performers. Flowers dry to tan and may remain upright all winter in some regions. Butterflies adore Allium, but they are not favored by deer and rodents. *Please note: We are not permitted to ship Alliums to Idaho or the Washington counties of Adams, Benton, Franklin, Grant or Klickitat.
Allium are easy to grow and can thrive in a variety of conditions. They prefer well-drained soil, especially sandy soil, but can tolerate most types. Avoid wet, boggy conditions. May appreciate some light afternoon shade in hot summer climates. Water moderately during the growing season and reduce after flowering. Quite drought tolerant once established. To control spread, deadhead flowers before seeds set. After blooming, let the foliage die back naturally to feed the bulbs for next season. Clumps may be lifted and divided in either spring or fall.
