General Information
Hardy in Zone 8-10. Brodiaea flaunt star-shaped flowers with grass-like foliage. It will naturalize readily if left undisturbed in warmer climates. Great for rock gardens, impressive in borders, bouquets and naturalized areas. Will be an annual except in zones 8-10 but can be stored over the winter in colder zones 3-7. Store the bulbs in a cool, dark place at 50 degrees F.
Plant Care
Plant the Brodiaea bulbs about 4” deep and 3-4” apart in clusters of 9-12 corms. Flowers best in full sun. Rock gardens are ideal. The soil should be well-drained, loose gritty or sandy soil to produce bigger corms. Keep soil moist in spring, but dry during summer and fall. Grass-like foliage will appear in spring but fade away when the flowers appear in late spring to early summer.
