Hyacinth are great selections for beginners. Plant Hyacinth Peter Stuyvesant, with its large clusters of intense dark purple florets, near entrances and walkways as their beautiful fragrant blooms are pleasing to sight and smell. When a breeze carries that first whiff of Hyacinth, spring is not far behind. 5 bulbs per bag. Bulb size 15-16 cm.
Hyacinth transition a winter-weary garden to life well before most perennials begin to waken in spring and before it is warm enough to plant annuals.
Hyacinth spring bulbs are best known for their fragrance. For the best effects, plant the bulbs in clusters of 5 or more of one variety. Enjoy this selection throughout the winter from indoor forcing. In zones 9 and 10 Hyacinth bulbs require 12-15 weeks of chilling at temps of 35-50 degrees for bulbs to return each year.
Plant the bulbs in full sun and well-drained soil. Plant 6" apart and 6" deep. Cut foliage to ground after it yellows. Interested in forcing bulbs? Visit our Useful Links page.
