Excellent blue grey foliage will turn a mix of burgundy red, pink and orange in the fall. Glossy purple seed panicles become fluffy tan in late summer. A native prairie grass in a reliably upright cultivar. Road salt tolerant.

Schizachyrium Plant Care:

Prefers dry, not especially fertile soil. Does not tolerate wet soils. Can be divided in spring when needed. Cut back in early spring leaving 3-4" of previous years growth. Will self sow.
