Lovely Filler for Bouquets
Mounding to trailing fragrant blue-green foliage with whorls of smoky-pink bracts scampers along arching stems ending in perfect rosettes. Smaller, maroon-blushed flowers nestle and peek from within the tips of the hops-like foliage. Origanum Kirigami is a knock-out perennial for rock gardens, border edges, and patio or container plantings. The dusky coloring is accentuated with warmer day-time temperatures and cooler nights. Foliage remains attractive all summer and is a lovely filler for fresh or dried bouquets.

Origanum General Information

Origanum are perfect for rock gardens. Ornamental Oregano is an attractive flowering perennial that is easy to grow. Must have good drainage, Avoid too moist (wet feet), Not for zones 3&4; may need to mulch or protect in Zone 5. Idaho has restricted all potted plant material from being shipped into Idaho at this time.

Origanum Plant Care

This low-maintenance plant prefers average, dryish soil with good winter drainage. Can be divided every 3 - 4 years in the spring. Trim off old stems in spring when new growth appears. Benefits from gravel mulch. Snip off old blooms to extend flowering period. Not good for cooking but flowers are attractive when dried.

Plantable Pots

Our plants are grown in 3.5x3.5x4” plantable pots. Made from 100% biodegradable coconut husk fibers (coir), these pots have tremendous advantages over plastic pots. With better air exchange, this "breathable" pot fosters robust root growth and reduces transplant shock since you can plant the pots directly in the ground. The pot naturally becomes part of the soil on its own over time—no composting required—and since they're made from a renewable resource that requires very little energy, they're earth-friendly too!

100% Guarantee

We offer a 100% unconditional guarantee for all our perennials to reach you in good condition and to grow. If you're not satisfied, we'll reship or refund immediately. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have questions or concerns—we share your passion for gardening and want your new plants to thrive in your border!
