Sumptuous! Six snow-white, ruffled falls are freckled with magenta pink and flawlessly outlined in the same magenta pink. Soft yellow signals complete the spectacular show! Needs consistent moisture. Perfect for a moist border, a rain garden or near a pond or stream.

Japanese Irises have been cultivated in Japan for over 500 years and once were restricted for enjoyment by royalty only. Combines well with Ferns and Astilbe. This Iris is a.k.a. Iris kaempferi Freckled Geisha.

Iris General Information

Japanese Iris display some of the most spectacular flowers of all the Irises. Blooms are large, ruffled and flat in form. The last Iris to bloom-generally several weeks after the Bearded Iris. Perfect beside a stream or a pond.

Iris Plant Care

Requires ample moisture in a slightly acid, heavy, rich soil with ample organic matter. In Spring, if rainfall is not sufficient, give extra water until bloom time. Heavy feeders, apply a balanced fertilizer such as 12-12-12 in spring just before blooming.
