Huge, purple-blue blossoms have magenta and white centers giving a nice twist on red, white and blue. This first ever seedless Rose of Sharon was developed at the Flemish ILVO Breeding Station. Proven Winners® selections are trialed and tested to be colorful, long blooming, carefree and easy to grow. Slow to begin growing in spring but makes up for lost time fast. Its size and growth habit allow this shrub to be planted as a specimen or in a border and the flowers are spectacular.

Hibiscus General Information

Hibiscus are very useful for the late summer to early fall bloom. Tolerant of a wide variety of soils except very wet or very dry sites. Proven Winners® selections are trialed and tested to be colorful, long blooming, carefree and easy to grow. Idaho has restricted all potted plant material from being shipped into Idaho at this time.

Hibiscus Plant Care

Pruning can be done in late spring. If desired (but usually not necessary) Rose of Sharon can be heavily pruned by removing undesired stems at ground level. Shaping is okay when desired.
