Gently-ruffled white flowers blushed with soft pink bars deserve the noble Countess title. Its subtle refined grace makes a grand entrance in May-June and again August –September.
Clematis The Countess of Wessex™ is ideal for a small garden balcony, deck garden or patio. Clematis supply vertical interest. Every perennial garden should have at least one of these incredible vines. From the Boulevard® Series renowned for its easy care, bushy long-blooming compact habit and perfect for gardeners who would like to grow Clematis but lack full sun.
Clematis are prized for their incredible flowers, most as large as your hand. "Queen of the Climbers" will train onto trellises, fences or arch over doorways. Stunning when used alone or when several colors are mixed. Grower's tip: Truest colors require full sun, as any shade will introduce purple tones. Flower color and bloom size may vary while the plant is establishing.
Idaho has restricted all potted plant material from being shipped into Idaho
at this time.
Pruning Type 2 - Flowers are produced on last year's growth, but pruning is recommended. In early spring, watch for swelling leaf buds beginning to show then prune to 3'. Also, loosely train/tie the vines to their trellis at this time also. If intertwining Clematis, pruning will be easier if you select varieties with the same pruning type.
