Tulip 'Sweet Valley'
Fosteriana Tulips with their velvety petals, are often referred to as Emperor tulips. They have perfectly formed, single, bowl-shaped flowers and sometimes striped leaves. They naturalize pleasantly and bloom earlier along with Daffodils. Some are fragrant.
Plant in medium moisture, organically rich well-drained soil at a depth of three times the height of the bulb (usually around 6" deep and 6" apart). Foliage should not be removed until it has withered as energy is being stored for the next growing season. Stems can be cut back to maintain appearances if desired. The plant is intolerant of heat and may lose vigor when soil temperatures reach 70 degrees F.
