Tulip General Information

Specie Tulips are some of best naturalizers and among the first to bloom. Their small size makes them an ideal choice for pots and rock gardens. Like having two tulips: outer color is shown during early mornings and cloudy days and sunlight opens the blossoms to reveal their inner coloring.

Tulip Plant Care

Plant in medium moisture, organically rich well-drained soil at a depth of three times the height of the bulb (usually around 6" deep and 6" apart). Foliage should not be removed until it has withered as energy is being stored for the next growing season. Stems can be cut back to maintain appearances if desired. The plant is intolerant of heat and may lose vigor when soil temperatures reach 70 degrees F. Visit our Fall-Planted Bulb Guide for more information. *Note: Wear gloves when planting bulbs to prevent any possible skin irritation.
