Lavender rose blooms on grey green foliage. Leaves carry a mint fragrance all summer. This new selection offers a more compact habit. Agastache Rose Mint has darker burgundy stems adding interest in making the blooms appear deeper than they really are.
Attractive to hummingbirds, butterflies and all pollinators. Goldfinches love the seed.
Agastache are equally good in the border and as a candidate for container growing. The better the drainage, the happier the plant. Scented foliage is good for flavoring drinks and drying. A customer advises us that her Goldfinches are wild for Agastache seed.
Good drainage is a must! Agastache thrive in full sun and rarely need divided. Most will self sow to spread, so deadhead by removing faded flowers to prevent seeding. Leave stems to overwinter; tip or remove new growth in early to mid spring for more flowering stems and a more compact plant. To promote strong stems, avoid too much water once established and fertilize only once every year or two in late fall to late winter.
