Heyyyy! Two thumbs up for this cool sport of H. Orange Marmalade! Cupped foliage with wide blue-green margins turn dark green in summer and yellow centers brighten to an ivory parchment. Light lavender flowers. Sure to become a household favorite.
Hosta thrive in shade, even in competition with tree roots, hurray! It is hard to find a perennial garden that won't benefit from incorporating some Hosta. Considered a ‘Premium’ Hosta, H. Happy Dayz was selected by a group of specialty hosta growers in zones 4-7. They must perform superbly in zones 4-7, have exemplary garden presence and performance, a long season of appeal in the landscape, have leaves of good substance, and demonstrate a greater resistance to common garden pests.
Hosta display lush foliage in diverse colors, heights, and textures. Their ability to excel in shade has captured gardeners' hearts everywhere.
Idaho has restricted all potted plant material from being shipped into Idaho
at this time.
Hosta are generally carefree. Remove the spent flower stalks if seeding is not wanted. (Not all varieties will seed.) Be aware that seedlings are rarely true to the parent plant. Unwanted or damaged leaves can be clipped off at the base at any time. The entire plant will die back for the winter and spent foliage can usually be raked or clipped off easily in late fall or early spring. Can be divided in spring or fall every 3-5 years if desired.
