Asahi means morning sun in Japanese perfectly suited as the warm golden-yellow double blossoms are as welcome as the morning sun. On straight slender stems, these prolific, long-bloomers resemble marigolds; but provide the benefits of a perennial.

The golden yellows of Heliopsis blend well with Joe Pye Weed, purple Coneflowers, Salvia and the bright orange and yellows of Gaillardia.

Heliopsis General Information

Heliopsis are long blooming and care free. Great in mass plantings. Simply covered in cheery blooms on sturdy, well-branched plants. Deadheading will prolong the display even longer. Idaho has restricted all potted plant material from being shipped into Idaho at this time.

Heliopsis Plant Care

No special care needed. Does not like to be dry for extended periods. Can be divided every 4 years or so in spring or fall. If height control is needed, can be cut back by one-half in late spring before flowering. Remove seed heads to avoid overabundance of volunteer plants.
