A Blooming Machine
The extra-large, peachy-orange-toned double flowers bring back memories of folding dozens of tissue paper carnations for special occasions. The intense spicy fragrance and ruffled petals boost their appeal far beyond the paper creations. Long blooming. These hybrid Dianthus are easy to grow and maintenance free. Dianthus Super Trouperô Orange stops us in our tracks when we trek through our greenhouses. Sun-loving, perfect for small bouquets; the more the flowers are cut, the more they will bloom.

Dianthus General Information

Foliage remains evergreen in all but the coldest winters. Dianthus are garden classics, appearing in many shapes and colors, most with blue/green or blue frosted quill-like foliage. Long blooming, perfect for small bouquets-most are fragrant. A cottage garden is not complete without several Dianthus. All are heat tolerant and low maintenance beauties. Idaho has restricted all potted plant material from being shipped into Idaho at this time.

Dianthus Plant Care

Shear off old flowering stems and approximately 1/3 of the foliage after blooming. Foliage will quickly recover and look nice, even into winter. Prefers loose and sandy alkaline soils. Can be divided in spring every 2-3 years.
