Delphinium General Information

The Pacific Series of Delphinium was selected for excellent flower and stem quality. They provide top-notch cut flowers with a long vase life. Climates with cool to moderate summer temperatures are preferred. Idaho has restricted all potted plant material from being shipped into Idaho at this time.

Delphinium Plant Care

As with most delphiniums, a moist, rich soil is needed and regular feeding and watering are recommended. Lanky or bent stems can be cut back by one half to force new growth at the base. As with Digitalis and Lupines, cut off most faded flowers so they do not exhaust themselves in seed production. Allow some self seeding to ensure future generations. Allow plenty of space between plants for good air circulation. Protect from wind and storms by planting along a fence or wall.
