Cotinus General Information

Smokebush makes a striking specimen plant and is also quite effective as a lower hedge or mass planting. Colorful foliage and blooms provide interest from spring to frost. Soft panicles of blooms in summer create a misty 'smoke' that makes this a popular landscape shrub. Idaho has restricted all potted plant material from being shipped into Idaho at this time.

Cotinus Plant Care

Low maintenance. Pruning is rarely required. Blooms on old wood. Prune only to remove dead wood or lightly shape in spring. Plant in full sun for best color and flowering.
