Fiery Copper-Orange Blooms
Firebird can take the heat! The vibrant flowers bloom until frost, embellishing the aromatic gray-green foliage. Tubular blossoms whorls on salvia-like spikes will entice butterflies and hummingbirds to sample the nectar rich blooms. Mint-scented leaves may be added fresh or dry to enhance your favorite tea. Cut back flower stems in summer to promote continuous bloom. A nice feature in an herb garden or mixed border.

Agastache General Information

Agastache are equally good in the border and as a candidate for container growing. The better the drainage, the happier the plant. Scented foliage is good for flavoring drinks and drying. A customer advises us that her Goldfinches are wild for Agastache seed. Idaho has restricted all potted plant material from being shipped into Idaho at this time.

Agastache Plant Care

Good drainage is a must! Agastache thrive in full sun and rarely need divided. Most will self sow to spread, so deadhead by removing faded flowers to prevent seeding. Leave stems to overwinter; tip or remove new growth in early to mid spring for more flowering stems and a more compact plant. To promote strong stems, avoid too much water once established and fertilize only once every year or two in late fall to late winter.

Plantable Pots

Our plants are grown in 3.5x3.5x4” plantable pots. Made from 100% biodegradable coconut husk fibers (coir), these pots have tremendous advantages over plastic pots. With better air exchange, this "breathable" pot fosters robust root growth and reduces transplant shock since you can plant the pots directly in the ground. The pot naturally becomes part of the soil on its own over time—no composting required—and since they're made from a renewable resource that requires very little energy, they're earth-friendly too!

100% Guarantee

We offer a 100% unconditional guarantee for all our perennials to reach you in good condition and to grow. If you're not satisfied, we'll reship or refund immediately. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have questions or concerns—we share your passion for gardening and want your new plants to thrive in your border!
