Hardiest of the Verbenas
A blooming machine of rose-lilac flowers, Verbena Canadensis blooms from May through the summer until frost – a great choice for the low-maintenance garden. Be sure to allow plenty of room - spills over edges nicely, too. This flamboyant knockout is stunning paired with silver-leaved plants like Artemisia, Lamb’s ears or a white-flowered form of Echinacea. Spring shipping only.

Verbena General Information

Verbena are prolific bloomers! Only a week of upper 90 degree heat has ever stopped this informal plant from flowering. The next week it was back to its showy self. Makes a mat of dark green, dissected leaves on stems that sprawl and spread and are covered all season long with bright flower clusters from May to season's end. Overwinter a few cuttings inside in the north. Idaho has restricted all potted plant material from being shipped into Idaho at this time.

Verbena Plant Care

Prefers full sun in well-drained soil. Must cut back spent blossoms to encourage new blooms. Remove top 1/4 of plant periodically to force new buds. Plants will have a sprawling habit which can be trained into a more compact shape through regular pruning.
