Naturally Round Small Evergreen
This naturally round dwarf Arborvitae lives up to its playful name. Thuja Mr. Bowling Ball is an easy-care, compact charmer that maintains its dense, spherical shape without pruning. This remarkable evergreen showcases soft, feathered foliage that emerges sage green, matures to a handsome blue-green, and holds its color year-round. Its reddish-brown bark adds subtle winter interest, and its hardy constitution makes it an excellent choice for challenging sites, including areas near Black Walnut trees or urban settings. Will bring structure and sophistication to any landscape as a foundation planting, in formal gardens, or as a container specimen.

Botanical Name

Thuja occidentalis 'Mr. Bowling Ball®' (Pending 'Bobazam')

Thuja General Information

Thuja are versatile evergreen landscape plants native to Northeastern United States. Naturally occurring in forests, wetlands, and along lake shores. Dense foliage provides excellent coverage for birds and small wildlife. Branches may be used for floral arrangements. Long lived.

Thuja Plant Care

Thuja is tolerant of a wide range of soils but thrives in moist, well-drained environments. Consistent watering is important. Does not like dry conditions. Keep the soil evenly moist from spring until the soil freezes in fall. Avoid exposed, windy sites. Best in full sun, but generally appreciates some light afternoon shade in hot summer climates. Fertilize lightly with a balanced fertilizer every spring. No pruning necessary.

Plantable Pots

Our plants are grown in 3.5x3.5x4” plantable pots. Made from 100% biodegradable coconut husk fibers (coir), these pots have tremendous advantages over plastic pots. With better air exchange, this "breathable" pot fosters robust root growth and reduces transplant shock since you can plant the pots directly in the ground. The pot naturally becomes part of the soil on its own over time—no composting required—and since they're made from a renewable resource that requires very little energy, they're earth-friendly too!

100% Guarantee

We offer a 100% guarantee for all our perennials to reach you in good condition and to grow. If you're not satisfied, we'll reship or refund immediately. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have questions or concerns—we share your passion for gardening and want your new plants to thrive in your border!
