Tolerates Foot Traffic
Blue star creeper is an adorable little plant that makes a dense, spreading low mat of round, green foliage and equally tiny light blue flowers in spring. Perfect between and around stepping stones. It is useful planted over bulbs. Will need to be contained if spreading is not desired. Note: Our plant spacing recommendations for groundcovers are based on how quickly these plants will spread in their first season of growth.

Laurentia General Information

Laurentia are sturdy groundcovers that can tolerate foot traffic. Evergreen in the South, they spread via underground runners and can seed. Best when allowed to roam and fill in. A deep landscape edging material can be used to halt unwanted spreading by runners. Idaho has restricted all potted plant material from being shipped into Idaho at this time.

Laurentia Plant Care

Low care. Cut back after blooming to freshen foliage and promote rebloom.

Plantable Pots

Our plants are grown in 3.5x3.5x4” plantable pots. Made from 100% biodegradable coconut husk fibers (coir), these pots have tremendous advantages over plastic pots. With better air exchange, this "breathable" pot fosters robust root growth and reduces transplant shock since you can plant the pots directly in the ground. The pot naturally becomes part of the soil on its own over time—no composting required—and since they're made from a renewable resource that requires very little energy, they're earth-friendly too!
