A Lilliputian Fothergilla, it flaunts the same extraordinary fall colors - vibrant yellows, oranges, and reds - of its larger cousins. An early-season nectar source. Plentiful fragrant clover-like white flowers in spring appear before the misty blue-green foliage. Backlighting from the sunís rays will capture each intricate filament of the creamy blossoms.
The charming soft bottlebrush-like flowers of Fothergilla Legend of the Small will exude a faint, sweet scent of honey on warm days. Fothergilla is a Southeastern United States native and Fothergilla x intermedia with its smaller stature can easily be tucked into any sized sunny garden. Reliable and carefree.
Fothergilla are magnificent shrubs with superb flowers and wonderful foliage. Spicy, honey-scented cream flowers. Excellent when combined with Rhododendron/Azalea. Flowering is most prolific in full sun.

Best to leave unpruned. If necessary, prune to a well placed young shoot in spring. Cut branch back to 1/4" above a bud anywhere on the length of the stems. Growth will be in the direction of the top bud, so cut accordingly. Cut at a shallow angle so the stub sheds water.
