Botanical Name

Campanula poscharskyana 'Blue Waterfall' (PP13,161)

Campanula General Information

Campanula poscharskyana, native to the Southeastern Europe is a charming, low-growing plant produces masses of star-shaped, lavender-blue flowers from late spring through summer. Growing only 6-8 inches tall but spreading up to 2 feet wide, it's an excellent choice for rock gardens, wall crevices, or as a groundcover. The trailing stems create a cascading effect, making it particularly attractive in hanging baskets or spilling over retaining walls. Foliage is semi-evergreen to evergreen in warm winter climates.

Campanula Plant Care

Easily grown in average, medium, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. Prefers part shade in hot summer climates. Performs best with regular moisture. Does not do well in climates where nighttime temperatures consistently remain above 70°F. Spreads quickly from root crowns but is generally easily controlled since stems can be easily trimmed to control growth. Divide every 3-4 years in spring to manage growth and rejuvenate plants.

Plantable Pots

Our plants are grown in 3.5x3.5x4” plantable pots. Made from 100% biodegradable coconut husk fibers (coir), these pots have tremendous advantages over plastic pots. With better air exchange, this "breathable" pot fosters robust root growth and reduces transplant shock since you can plant the pots directly in the ground. The pot naturally becomes part of the soil on its own over time—no composting required—and since they're made from a renewable resource that requires very little energy, they're earth-friendly too!
