Long-lived Perennial
Max Vogel has extra large, soft pink, double flowers with recurving petals that frame frilly orange centers. Graceful flowers adorn tall, slender stems above an attractive mound of rich, dark green leaves. From late summer to fall, there is no other flower quite like Anemone in the border. They are prized for their late summer color that lasts into the fall. Great for cut bouquets.

Anemone General Information

Anemone are a great addition to the late summer and fall border. Pink or white flowers on tall stems are freely and continuously produced over lush mounding foliage. In milder climates, they can be nearly evergreen. Plants do not perform well in the deep South (south of USDA Zone 7).

Anemone Plant Care

Best grown in organically fertile, evenly moist, well-drained soils in full sun to part shade locations with protection from wind. Soil should not be allowed to dry out but avoid wet, poorly drained soil, particularly in winter. In the south, they will do best in part shade to prevent burning the foliage and drying out. In the north, they will do best when mulched for winter. Plants may be slow to establish but will naturalize well by spreading. Taller plants may need some staking or other support. Divide clumps in spring

Plantable Pots

Our plants are grown in 3.5x3.5x4” plantable pots. Made from 100% biodegradable coconut husk fibers (coir), these pots have tremendous advantages over plastic pots. With better air exchange, this "breathable" pot fosters robust root growth and reduces transplant shock since you can plant the pots directly in the ground. The pot naturally becomes part of the soil on its own over time—no composting required—and since they're made from a renewable resource that requires very little energy, they're earth-friendly too!
