Long Blooming!
An open invitation to hummingbirds, butterflies and all pollinators! Whorls of tubular flowers climb the profuse burgundy rose, salvia-like spikes. Cooler temperatures bring showy dark foliage to the upright habit. Good mildew resistance. Mint-scented leaves of Agastache Morello may be added fresh or dry to enhance your favorite tea. Cut back flower stems in summer to promote continuous bloom. Hummingbird Mint is an appealing perennial for summer through fall color in a sun-loving garden.

Agastache General Information

Agastache are equally good in the border and as a candidate for container growing. The better the drainage, the happier the plant. Scented foliage is good for flavoring drinks and drying. A customer advises us that her Goldfinches are wild for Agastache seed. Idaho has restricted all potted plant material from being shipped into Idaho at this time.

Agastache Plant Care

Good drainage is a must! Agastache thrive in full sun and rarely need divided. Most will self sow to spread, so deadhead by removing faded flowers to prevent seeding. Leave stems to overwinter; tip or remove new growth in early to mid spring for more flowering stems and a more compact plant. To promote strong stems, avoid too much water once established and fertilize only once every year or two in late fall to late winter.
