Tall spikes of amethyst blue will bloom all summer long. Excellent cut flower with nodding bell-shaped blossoms are mildly fragrant. Gather for fresh flower bouquets. Makes a nice vertical accent for the middle of a perennial border.
Adenophora are profuse bloomers with many spikes of colorful bells in summer. Give them room to spread to make a spectacular show en masse.
Deadheading will prevent seeding and a barrier will help with running if spread is not wanted. A better choice than Campanula for southern gardens.
To promote bushiness, Adenophora may be cut back by one-half in May when they reach 6-8" tall. Cut plants down to basal foliage in fall, clean up in spring. Long-lived. Roots deeply, so may be difficult to divide.
Our plants are all grown in plantable fiber pots that grow incredibly vigorous plants, eliminate transplant shock, and are 100% biodegradable. They have tremendous advantages over plastic pots.
