Blooms profusely in the shade. The lavender, yellow-throated 1" flowers are orchid-like. The plants are bolder, with much larger leaves than other Toad Lilies. Likes a moist woodsy shady spot. Late to sprout in the spring.

General Information:
Likes rich, high organic soil.
Plant Care:
Prefers a moist to wet, well-drained, slightly acidic soil in partial shade. Tends to wake late in spring. Seldom needs division, but can be done in spring. Cut back by 1/2 in early June to control height and freshen foliage if needed. May benefit from extra watering during summer heat. Can cut down foliage after killing frost.
