CHASMANTHIUM Latifolium : Northern Sea Oats

Chasmanthium Latifolium - NORTHERN SEA OATS - Medium 3' (4' with plumes)- Plant 3' apart. zone 5-9 Deep green foliage stands upright, arching slightly. Interesting flat tan seed heads rise above and remind one of wheat weavings. Provides excellent winter interest. Native N. American grass. Salt tolerant. Self sows in moist soils, but seedlings are easy to scratch out. Ornamental Grasses are restricted from Idaho and Oregon. Large pots CHLAP

General Information
Deer resistant; quite shade tolerant. Seed heads are fascinating, especially for winter interest.

Plant Care
Give it a good haircut to 6-10" in spring. Remove any old debris at that time as well.
