Thick glossy rich green leaves are evergreen and plants will slowly expand to make a great groundcover. Leaves take on an eye-catching deep red cast in fall as temperatures drop. Magnificent carmine red flower clusters are held on stiff stems from March to May over 6" foliage. Attractive in rock gardens, for edging or as a charming filler plant.

General Information:
Thick glossy rich green leaves are evergreen and plants will slowly expand to make a great groundcover. Spring flowers are held on stiff stems from March to May over 6" foliage. Will need shade in warmer zones. Fine in moist sites. A good performer in sites where other plants refuse to grow.

Plant Care:
No special care needed. Clean up in spring if needed. Truly maintenance free. Divide in spring every 4 years or so when clump opens up in center. Does not like "wet feet".
