General Information:
Baptisias are extremely long-lived. Flower spikes rise above the upright, vase-shaped habit graced with pea-shaped blossoms. Fall brings added interest with black seedpods highlighting the bluish-green foliage.
Plant Care:
Can be slow to establish but will reach shrub like proportions. Good in poor soils. Dislikes being moved when mature. Seed pods are attractive, so late fall or spring cleanup may be preferred. Cut to 4-6" when foliage blackens with the cold.
