Aptly called "verbena on a stick", Verbena Bonariensis has had an avalanche of press coverage in the past year. Tall and airy, these bright lavender clusters are held high on wiry stems that wave in the breeze from mid summer to frost. Self seeds readily, treat as an annual in the North. Verbena General Information:

Verbena Bonariensis are tall and airy producing deep lilac clusters of flowers on stiff, slender stems. Blooms mid-summer through fall. Great for mixed borders. Self-seeds readily.

Verbena Plant Care:

Prefers full sun in well-drained soil. Must cut back spent blossoms to encourage new blooms. Remove top 1/4 of plant periodically to force new buds. Cut back stems in spring when fresh growth starts at base or if in a frost-free area, in autumn after flowering.
