Named for a garden, not its size, as it grows to 30". Lovely blue violet flowers accent the tangy aromatic grey green foliage. Its long season of bloom and carefree habit make Nepeta Walker's Low shine when placed with Coreopsis and Hemerocallis. Seeds are sterile. Perennial Plant Association Plant of the Year 2007.

Nepeta General Information:

Nepeta are smothered with blossoms in summer. Likes sun and dry conditions. One of the best plants to edge or underplant a rose bed. Cut back to the ground at the end of winter. Cats enjoy it as much as catnip.

Nepeta Plant Care:

Prefers dryish, not especially fertile soil. May benefit from gravel mulch. Cut back by 2/3 in July to promote reblooming in August to end of summer. Leave foliage on in winter and clean up in spring to help protect roots. Can be divided every 3 - 4 years in spring.
