Similar to The Rocket, but the foliage is even showier. Ligularia Desdemona forms a wide clump of, heart-shaped, purple backed green foliage which in late summer are topped with clusters of orangish-yellow, daisy-like flowers. This bold specimen looks spectacular at the waterside or in the back of the border.

Ligularia General Information:

Ligularias are impressive specimen plants that produce large masses of foliage sporting showy flowers. Dried flower heads attract goldfinches. Not for Gulf states.

Ligularia Plant Care:

Prefers consistently moist, compost rich soil and light shade. Can be divided in spring as needed. Spent foliage can be removed as needed and should be cut back in fall to avoid mushy foliage.
