Ilex General Information:

Brillant berries in fall and winter offer exceptional color and interest in the late season garden. Cut branches of berries are prized for Holiday arrangements-remaining berries attract winter birds and returning robins.

Ilex Plant Care:

Established specimens tolerate pruning, but little is required. Prune for holiday decorations or in late summer. Shape for hedges with shears. Shaping for a hedge on the female will usually be at the expense of berrying.
