Paniculata are the most cold hardy-a native of Asia. Stiff upright branches never get floppy. Flowers are more cone-shaped than ball-like. Can also be shaped into tree form.

Hydrangea General Information:

Hydrangea are superb in the border for summer and autumn color. This shade tolerant shrub is perfect for under trees and in the shadows of buildings. Provides winter interest too if flowers are left on. Great for indoor decorating as their flowers are easily dried.

Hydrangea Plant Care:

Previous year's wood can be pruned back to leave only two buds at the base of each stem in very early spring to encourage larger panicles.
