Sweetly fragrant flowers that change from pure white, to pink, to deep rose - all typically appearing at the same time from April to frost. Common name, Pinks, is due to the intricate fringed petals that appear as though they were cut with pinking shears. Mounding foliage is attractive, even in winter. General Information:


Dianthus are garden classics, appearing in many shapes and colors. Long blooming, perfect for small bouquets-most are fragrant. A cottage garden is not complete without several Dianthus.

Plant Care:


Shear off old flowering stems and the top couple inches of foliage after blooming. Foliage will quickly recover and look nice, even into winter. Prefers loose and sandy alkaline soil. Can be divided in spring every 2-3 years.
